Limited Scleroderma Or CREST (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

What Causes It?

Crest happens when the body’s immune system would attack itself instead of protecting it causing numerous damages to the affected area. While this is understood, the cause of scleroderma is not clearly understood however, there are some factors that could play a role these would include genes. A person with defective genes is said to be more susceptible to scleroderma or some would say that scleroderma can be inherited.

Environmental factors could also cause scleroderma as unwanted factors in the environment such as bacteria and viruses are possible causes of it. It could also be the female hormones, since females are four times more likely to develop the illness than men are. While these may attempt to solve the unknown cause of scleroderma, none of them are proven yet and these are still theories.

How Does This Develop?

While the first signs of limited scleroderma just happens to your skin, it may make everyday living more difficult for you. However, the real pain starts if the condition would spread inside you affecting other organs. Some complications that would involve scleroderma are gastro-intestinal problems of which will make it more difficult for you to process food into waste, digital ulcers which happen when blood flow is restricted to the fingers and toes that in turn would cause ulcer.

Scleroderma can also lead to lung problems if the lungs are affected and as well as the kidneys. If any of these two organs are affected, that in turn could also cause heart problems. Other problems that are results of scleroderma are dental problems, arthritis, sicca syndrome and depression or anxiety.

Limited Scleroderma Or CREST (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Scleroderma happens when the body’s immune system begins attacking its own tissues instead of protecting them. This causes the affected area to thicken that in turn would limit blood flow and limit the organ’s function. Scleroderma can affect everyone but the most affected are women that are between the ages 30 and 50. This rarely happens among Northern Asians and in children and is inherent in African-American women and the Native American Choctaw tribe.

There are two main forms of scleroderma. These are systemic sclerosis which would affect two or more areas and is the more fatal form and CREST or limited scleroderma. Although limited scleroderma can be disabling, it is not very likely that it can cause death unless the condition will progress into something worse. CREST usually affects the lower arms and legs, the face and the neck and tends to progress much slower than systemic sclerosis.

What Are The Symptoms Of Crest?

CREST is an acronym for its major symptoms. C in crest stands for calcinosis which is characterized by calcium deposits forming under the skin mainly on the knees, elbows and fingers. Another symptom is Raynaud’s phenomenon which is one of the most common symptoms of any form on sclerosis. This usually begins by color changes, numbness and pain in the fingers and is caused when blood flow is limited towards the fingers.

Another common symptom of CREST is esophageal dysfunction. People with limited scleroderma often experience problems with their esophagus which makes swallowing difficult for them. They could also experience thickening in various parts of the body particularly the fingers, legs, chest, arms and legs. This condition is known as sclerodactyly. The last symptom is telangiectasia which is a collection of blood vessels on the surface of the skin.

Different Types of Drugs that Can Cause Mood Swings (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Over-the-counter drugs that have amphetamine-like effects are frequently being abused by some users.  Because of its stimulant effects, it helps keep people awake and alert.  It can also suppress the appetite, making it the drug of choice of people who want to lose weight.

The problem is that amphetamines are also drugs that cause mood swings.  People who use them frequently exhibit insomnia, restlessness and irritability.  In some cases, it can even cause tremors.

LSD
LSD or lysergic acid diethylamide is a synthetic substance, a drug that was made popular in the 60s and 70s.  It is a hallucinogenic drug, capable of changing the user's perception of reality.  It is so strong that it can work even in very small doses.

Like most drugs, LSD can also lead to mood swings.  Although its initial effects are mainly producing hallucinations, it can create confusion and anxiety in users.

There are also other naturally-occurring drugs that function in similar ways to LSD.  Peyote, for example, contains mescaline, while certain types of mushrooms contain psilocybin.  These ingredients both produce hallucinations, which made them very popular for use by people practicing certain religious rituals.

Although both substances are quite effective, they are not as potent as LSD, which is 200 times more potent than psilocybin and around 4,000 times more powerful than mescaline.

Antidepressants
Antidepressants are prescription drugs that change the levels of neurotransmitters in the body, including norepinephrine and serotonin.  Antidepressants include monoamine oxidase inhibitors, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and tricyclics.  Although quite effective, these drugs do have side effects, including mood swings.

Different Types of Drugs that Can Cause Mood Swings (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Drugs, particularly recreational ones, have a nasty reputation for causing mood swings and hallucinations.  Most of the drugs that are popular among users and addicts today are especially prized or formulated for their specific effects.  Unfortunately, these very same effects could also become uncontrolled, creating unpleasant physical, mental and emotional stress.  Often, these emotions can be either extremely positive or extremely negative.  Depending on the amount of drugs that enters the body and the person's own physiological reactions to it, mood swings can be prolonged and intense.

Drugs that can cause mood swings
There are several types of drugs that lead to mood swings.  These are:

Cocaine
Cocaine was a drug that soared in popularity in the 80s and 90s.  It is a known stimulant that may be dissolved and taken through an IV, although it is commonly inhaled.  Cocaine, like its derivative crack, produces a feeling of intense euphoria, which makes it very popular with users.  It can quickly stimulate the central nervous system, increasing energy and confidence and reducing inhibition.

The problem with cocaine is that once the initial effects wear off, the negative effects begin.  This is then replaced by depression, guilt, anxiety and nervousness, exactly the opposite of the emotions it produces initially.

Inhalants
Inhalants frequently come in the form of adhesives such as glues, gasoline, aerosol propellants, spray paints and cleaning liquids.  Although safe in small quantities and if used as indicated, inhalants may be abused.

Inhalants produce a 'high' but this is only temporary.  Unless a new 'hit' is taken, the user could begin to suffer from negative emotions, leading to mood swings.

Amphetamines
Amphetamines were the drug of choice for nearly two decades starting in the 1950s.  It was actually a prescription drug, used to treat mild depression, fatigue and obesity.  The only problem is that amphetamines can lead to addiction, which has now severely limited its use today.

• Chargebacks and retrieval fees are related to customer or issuing bank disputing a transaction that was processed. A large number of chargebacks can cause your merchant account to be dropped totally and leave you in a bind when trying to get another merchant account for your business. As a merchant, it is important that a merchant take the necessary steps to reduce and potentially eliminate the instances of chargebacks.

• Cancellation fee is significant cost in setting up and maintaining a merchant account for a business and this fee helps recoup some of those losses should a merchant cancel, especially in the beginning.

• There are hidden or junk fees that merchants are not aware of. Some of the hidden fee is for a merchant account provider to offer a teaser rate that is extremely low, but the teaser rate is just temporary and goes up after a few moths while the application is still in process.

Knowing and understanding the merchant account rates and fees will enable the merchant to identify the best service or account provider.  It is also important to know the different fees, so that you know where you’re hard earned money go to.

Living Wills: Your Right, Your Choice (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com
A completed and duly signed living will should be kept in a safe location where you and your immediate family can easily get hold of it. Therefore, storing this legal document in a secured deposit box is never a good idea.

You should also inform your lawyer – if you have one, as well as your next of kin, about the existence and whereabouts of your living will. In addition, your attending physician and health care provider should be notified and instructed in making the document a part of your permanent hospital records.

Living Will Vs. Power of Attorney

A living will is activated only when death is imminent or when a patient falls in a persistent vegetative condition and has lost all faculties of communication. It only handles the application or removal of life-support measures.

On the other hand, a durable power of attorney works in a different way. It basically goes into effect when a patient becomes incapacitated to make autonomous health care determinations. However, he or she does not have to be in a vegetative state or in a near-death condition.

The power of attorney also allows a surrogate to speak in behalf of the patient and to make the necessary health care decisions. But unlike a living will, the determinations are not restricted to life-prolonging treatments. The type and extent of decisions a surrogate can make essentially depends on your preferences.

It is not compulsory to have both a power of attorney and a living will. However, if you do decide to have both, you should make sure that they don’t clash. On top of that, you should view living wills as a right and not as a privilege given only to special people.

Living Wills: Your Right, Your Choice (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Every person has the right to self-determination especially on the subject of health care. This right encompasses the decision to refuse or accept a particular type of treatment, may it be as simple as an oral medication or as complicated as a surgical procedure.

An individual who is of sound mind and above 18 years of age is also entitled to plan and give directions concerning future medical care in the event of a serious infirmity or vegetative state. He or she may convey certain wishes through living wills.

A living will is a legal file that informs your immediate family and your doctors concerning your preferences about life-support measures. These specialized group of medical treatments could include artificial respirators and tube feeding – all of which aim to prolong life with no definite hope of reinstating quality. The high-tech machines and gadgets may target and support specific organs in the body such as the lungs, kidneys, or the heart.

Normally, the orders stated in a living will becomes effective as soon as two qualified doctors – one of whom should be the attending physician – both concur in writing that the patient is either in a permanent/irreversible vegetative condition or close to death. Needless to say, it should be established that he or she is definitely incapable of expressing health care decisions.

In case you have a change of heart after completing a previous living will, you may effect the desired alterations in the legal document at any time. You may even call the whole thing off if you feel compelled to do so. Then again, you must follow certain procedures for the cancellation of a living will. State laws, with regard to living wills and advance directives, typically regulate this lawful action.

The process of magazine publishing (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com
First is the need for solicited material, which forms part of the actual concept and framework of a magazine publication.

Next and among the most common practice in acquiring material is that writers often submit a proposal, for which the majority of unsolicited submissions come from previously unpublished authors.

These unsolicited manuscripts through what is called a slush pile , where editors which sift through the material to identify manuscripts of sufficient quality or revenue potential. Established and reputable writers are oftentimes represented by a literary agent, who markets their work to publishers and negotiate contracts for their writing materials.

Upon acceptance and endorsement for publication, commissioning editors negotiate the purchase of intellectual property rights and agree on royalty rates for book publications, and copyright license or permission for magazine publications, depending on the material for publication.

This is followed by the editorial process, that takes place once the immediate commercial decisions are taken and the technical legal issues resolved, book authors may be asked to improve the quality of the work through rewriting or smaller changes, after which the editorial staff will edit the work, the process which could also apply to syndicated materials either with a single article or a series.

Magazine publishers usually adopt a house style, oftentimes a format which makes it unique for a specific publishing company, be it a writing style or a lay-out design and the editorial staff will copy edit to ensure that the work matches the style and grammatical requirements of each market.

Material editing may also involve structural changes and requests for more information.

The last in the process of magazine publishing is marketing and distribution, that releases the product to the main market, thus, giving us our adored and subscribed magazine publishing.

The process of magazine publishing (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

The process of magazine publishing involves a diverse variety of the production and dissemination of literature and information.

Magazine publication in all of its many forms, is geared primarily on making information available to the public, regardless of how it is being presented, whether in print or electronic media.

Magazine publishing traces it roots back to the ancient days when paper was first invented and was discovered to be a good form of communication media.

From the simple ink and paper process to the trendiest and most colorful pages of today, magazine publishing has indeed taken a new turn for the better.

Commonly, the publishing process includes the stages of the development, acquisition, copyediting, graphic design, production – printing and its electronic equivalents, marketing and distribution.

However, magazine publishing is not just limited to concept and printing, but it also involves a tedious process before it even reaches the newsstands.

Editorial, commercial, informational and entertainment content are among the most commonly used content for many and most magazine publications, that involves a multi-faceted skill set that not lonely involves warm bodies, but costs money as well.

For the publication business, cost is relative- the better the talent, the pricier it gets. This is also reflective in the commercial aspect of distribution and marketing- the better the quality, the more it costs money to pay for the product.

Another factor for consideration is that book and magazine publishers spend a great deal of time and money buying and commissioning copy, which for many publishers would add more weight, quality and repute to their products.

For a small publishing company or press, it is possible to rely mainly on commissioned material, but as activity and business increases, the need for more works like subscribing to syndicated materials or outsourced printing manuscripts may overwhelm the publisher's commissioned circle of writers.

How Can You Measure A Brand? (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com
Perceived Quality

Based on the level of satisfaction and benefits derived from the use of the product, consumers will have their varying perceptions when it comes to the quality of a given product. But even this one entails several variables such as consistency of delivering quality products or its performance in comparison to competition.

Perceived Value

There are two ways to look into this one: in terms of money and benefits. However, these two are interlaced. Meaning, consumers determine the value of a product for its money based on whether it delivers the kind of benefits that the product promised and the consumers expect from it.

Organization's Reputation

Even though it is not directly concerned with the product that a customer is in the process of buying, the reputation of the company behind the product impacts their buying choices. Is it a credible organization? Is it something that I can trust? Building that reputation comes in part of a business' effort to build a strong brand.

Awareness

To achieve this, most businesses often work on establishing brand recognition. Brand recall oftentimes lead to purchases since most buyers opt to buy something that is familiar to them, as opposed to an unknown product or brand. You need to work on protecting your brand though as a few mistake can destroy the brand that you have built.

Establishing a value for your brand proves to be difficult and a lot of hard work. And yet, money is only a meager factor in the entire formula. Only when a brand has established itself well enough such that consumers are willing to pay for it, regardless of the price, does it achieve its true value as a brand.

How Can You Measure A Brand? (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Measuring a Brand

Every business involves its own share of tangible and intangible assets, but brand is one of the most basic areas that business owners focus on. In a recent marketing research, it was revealed that brand equity played a vital role in determining its market value. Therefore, measuring a brand is one of the first steps undertaken by the head of the company if they wish to incur higher revenues.

How To Measure?

There are several elements involved in trying to measure a brand and its market value. All these factors intersect with one another such that they impact one another in evaluating the importance of a given brand and its value in the market. There are several variables involved such as whether you are weighing more importance on pricing or is more interested in enlarging your share of the market. That is something that you need to figure out amongst your organization first. Then, you can take into account the following brand value measures to reach your desired goals.

Price Premium

You need to evaluate your own brand and put yourself in the mindset of the consumers. How much are you willing to pay for that brand? Most recognized brands typically place higher premiums on their product as compared to other similar products from unknown brands. There are several marketing aspects to consider here but you can establish your brand by trying to lower your price to get a bigger share of the market. You have to conduct a thorough market research though before you come up with any decisions, so you have a basis for your evaluation.

Customer Satisfaction

To come up with a tangible data about this, you might have to conduct a survey. This will enable you to track down goods or services that appeal most to consumers. You can also take note whether there are any repeat purchases. This will enable you to effectively measure your brand's value in the market.

Dressmaking For Children (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com
Dressmaking for children can be fun as well as economical. You do not have to be an expert to make a satisfactory child's garment. After all, any sewing "mistakes" you make will not be around very long, since children outgrow their clothes so quickly. If you are a beginner, choose simple patterns. Save the harder ones for later.

Once you have all the tools that you need, consider the type of fabrics, designs, patterns, and colors that you will use for the child. In choosing fabrics, make sure that they are strong and flexible enough to endure everyday use. Opt for cotton fabrics or cotton variations with polyester because they are soft, comfortable, and easy to work on.

When it comes to patterns, always base them on the child's body measurements so you can make the necessary adjustments. Also, opt for printed designs and bright colors to stimulate your child's enthusiasm and cheerfulness. For boys, colors such as red, blue, green, and brown are recommended. For girls, soft and bright colors such as yellow, pink, orange, and violet are ideal.

To ensure that children will really like the clothes you will do for them, get their suggestions and approval before finally proceeding to the sewing proper. You can spend some time asking them what color they would want, the design they prefer as well as the characters they might want to add.

If you have spare time, you can ask them to do simple sketches of the clothes that they want and make a pattern out of these sketches. Aside from enhancing their creativity, you are also encouraging the child to gain independence as well as teaching him or her to make decisions on his or her own.

Dressmaking For Children (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

For parents, dressmaking can be a wonderful stress buster and a rewarding experience especially if they get to sew the clothes of their own children. Aside from the fulfilling experience that you are doing for somebody you love, dressmaking for children can also help you save some money because you don’t have to buy ready-to-wear garments that cost a lot.

Aside from being an economical activity, dressmaking for kids can also help you to be more creative and resourceful because the craft itself would encourage you to come up with designs without having to spend so much money.

Dressmaking for children does not really require outstanding needlework skills. All you have to do is to learn the basics of sewing and come up with your own style, designs, and ideas. You also need to be creative and patient when doing this because you will have to consider a lot when it comes to kids' clothing.

Getting started

If you are planning to sew the clothes of your kids, the major consideration that you have to pay attention to is the time. If you were a full time mother or father, then time would not be a problem for you. But for working parents, this activity would require outstanding time management skills to finish a certain sewing project.

Once you have fixed your schedule, another consideration would be the acquisition of sewing tools. Since you will be sewing just for your kids, basic sewing tools such as sewing machine, needles, threads, serger, and shears are needed. If you are planning to sew an entire wardrobe for your kids, make sure that you invest in good sewing tools because they will make the work easier and hassle-free for you.

Flirting Body Languages In Men And Women (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Women's Flirting Signals

Research shows that women gives body language messages five to six times more than men. They can give many signs that she is flirting with you and they are easy to spot. The most common action is preening. A woman would tend to play, stroke or comb her hair and sometimes toss it over her shoulder. A strong flirting preening action is when a woman would involve her lips. Licking the lips, eating slowly, drinking with poise while having eye contact, and putting on lipstick can easily seduce a man.

Slowly crossing or stroking the legs is also a clear intentional flirting action by women. She would also tend too adjust her clothes to expose more skin. Playing with an object, like a glass, is a sign that she likes you. But make sure she is looking at you while doing it, otherwise it would mean that she is not interested.

“Yes, I like You”

The general signs saying that he or she is indeed interested with you include smiling, longer eye contact, preening, licking the lips, raising the eyebrows, playing with the hair, looking away and then back again, leaning towards you, head slightly tilted, mirroring your actions, good posture, frequent nodding, laughing, and many more. If you spot these signs, then it would be a great time to move a step further.

“No, I'm Really Not Interested”

How would you know if that quick glance did not mean anything and a connection is not happening? Watch out for these body language signals: looking away and not looking back, looking at other people, slouching, sighing loudly, passive expression, playing an object with her fingers without looking at you while you talk, dull eyes, crossing the arms, and the like.

Body language is truly a strong reinforcement of messages especially during flirting, seduction, and dating. Each one may have different ways to express their desires, but most of these actions have general meanings that are easy to decipher and learn.

Flirting Body Languages In Men And Women (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

The flirting body language is complicated to understand and oftentimes misinterpreted. Men gives signs of flirtation in different ways compared to women. So how can you tell if someone is already flirting with you? Does she like me? Is he interested in me? This article discusses facts and tips on determining flirting signals.

Men's Flirting Signals

There are five standard body signals that a man is flirting: eye contact, raising the eyebrows, giving the masculine impression, touching self, and leaning towards you.

The first sign of attraction a man would give you is catching your eye. But if he passes on to another person and doesn't look back at you, it means that he is not interested. However, if he glimpses at you, looks away, and then back at you again, it is a very clear indication that he is attracted to you. Sometimes, eye contact would not mean anything. But if it lasts longer, it means something indeed is running in his mind and you are involved. The second signal, raising the eyebrow is not a very strong indication and is most of the time done unconsciously. It often means that he finds you interesting or sexy.

The third flirting sign is that men would square his shoulders and try to stand tall and straight. When sitting, his feet and legs will be apart. A man would also tend to hook his thumbs over his belt. These actions would show and emphasize his masculinity, with hopes that he would acquire that admiration from you.

Lastly, a man attracted to you would try to get closer to you or lean his body towards you. This act can be done intentionally or unconsciously.

My Bestfriend's Name Is CNC: A Company’s Perspective (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Some of the CNC programs that are connected with the metal industry are milling, drilling, reaming, boring and tapping. Moreover, any metal that has any curved side have experienced some form of knurling, grooving, turning and/or threading.

Fabrication, in manufacturing, refers to processes that are executed on thin plates/sheets. These sheets are cut, punched, and bent to form their finishing shapes. CNC also stars in almost every aspect of metal fabrication.

THE WOODWORKING INDUSTRY

While the most beautiful wood-worked products are most likely hand-made, you cannot deny that a wide array of tools and furniture HAVE to be NOT hand-made to save time and for mass production levels. There’s just too much work and not to many hands. In light with this, CNC has worked wonders for this industry.

Important woodworking processes include cutting, framing, carving and engraving. The most useful woodworking CNC product is the CNC router table. It is capable of carving elaborate 2D and 3D designs. Moreover, it is also capable of material change while repeating the same design. Since contemporary furniture is often a splash of different materials (e.g.  Wood, aluminum and/or plastic), any CNC router is capable of reproducing the same design EVEN in different kinds of materials by just altering the router bit.

Although many local, middle-sized enterprise owners are skeptical about using employing CNC in their manufacturing operations, there have been many success stories to sway them to using it anyway. In the Metal and Woodworking industries, CNC has proven itself time and again to be efficient.

It saves time and efforts in production and (more importantly) back-jobs. If you’re venturing to one of these industries, remember that the word "labor" isn’t something social anymore - it’s technological. And start calling CNC your best friend.

My Bestfriend's Name Is CNC: A Company’s Perspective (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

CNC machine tools are praised all over the world because of three major factors: automation, accuracy and versatility. Human (operator) intervention is reduced to minimal levels because CNC machines can run on its own after it is programmed. Also, when the program is perfected, the CNC machine can run the instructions perfectly on its own.

Remember that any CNC machine can also be programmed to do special one-time tasks such as a dry-run, which will help the operator oversee what will happen when s/he leaves the CNC machine to do its tasks alone. Accuracy also goes hand in hand with repeatability. Again, once the program is perfected, the CNC machine can perform that task PERFECTLY even until 7 or 7000 times.

Lastly, versatility also works in the form of “task memory” that these CNC machines have. Once a program has been performed even for just one production run, it can be easily recollected the next time that the company needs the program. This saves time for setting up and loading of different programs.

The CNC sure simplifies the work of thousands of factories and machine shops worldwide. However, no matter how great CNC sounds like, it is something that doesn’t fit in some industries. Like, perhaps, in the cosmetic industry, or in the show-business. Those examples are way too obvious. On the other hand, in these two major mechanical industries, CNC is almost synonymous to “hero”.

THE METAL INDUSTRY

Think of Metal. Metal. Perhaps the easiest metal that you can imagine is that of…a spoon. Now, imagine ANY spoon done with bare hands. After that, imagine a thousand spoons done with bare hands. It’s so tedious you might even consider suicide if you are assigned to such a job.

The metal industry has been operating on CNC for ages. In fact, if you search CNC in the internet, you will instantly find metal companies topping the list. The major CNC centers that you will find in most metal machining processes are “CNC turning centers”, “CNC machining centers”, “CNC grinding centers” and “CNC drill and tap centers”.

Far-Reaching Economic Recession (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

The United States economic decline on 2008 will greatly affect the global economy. Being one of the largest economy in the world. Some reckless practices has brought the looming recession in the United States; no down payment, no verification of income/ assets/ jobs, interest rate mortgages, negative amortization, and teaser rates. Approximately 50 to 60 percent of the loans made in the banks were done through these reckless practices.

Economic recessions are not only distinct in the United States. European countries are also getting affected by economic slowdown. Denmark was confirmed to be in a recession. The economic growth in Denmark declined by 0.6 percent in the first quarter of the year. While Estonia and Latvia both entered recession in the second quarter of the year. While Sweden showed zero growth in the second water of 2008.

The British economy is also being hit by rising oils prices and credit crisis. Telltale signs that the British economy is entering recession, when the housing market fell in 2007. In the next quarter, the housing market went down twice its former figure. Currently the economic growth in United Kingdom is zero. This would be next to the negative economic growth that happened in second quarter of 1992. The current slowdown has ended 16 years of continuous economic growth, the longest period of economic expansion in Britain since the 19th century.

Economic crisis is also happening in New Zealand whose economy’s growth declined by 0.3 percent. Meanwhile in Australia, consumer confidence fell into a 16 year low economic growth in July. South Africa is being warned that it will enter a recession by this year.  Japan has experienced a drop in economic growth, the first time in five years. Meanwhile, Canada’s economic growth has shrank in the first quarter of the year.

Far-Reaching Economic Recession (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

In mid-2008, we might be facing an economic recession in global proportions. There are important factors that caused this economic slowdown. These include the high oil prices which will lead to high prices of food. Since food production is dependent on the production process and transportation process on oil. This will be combined with the credit crisis and an increase in unemployment.

As early as January of 2008, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) already predicted that global economic growth will decline. It would be greatly affected by the United Stated Economy.

The IMF mentioned that the economic recession in the United States will be affected greatly by the financial market conditions and the continuing correction in the U.S. housing market. IMF predicted that the United States will have a mild recession in 2008 but will recover, although modest, in 2009.

Meanwhile, global growth would achieve little recovery in 2009, there is a 25 percent chance that the global economy would record 3 percent or less of growth in 2008 and 2009.  This is already like saying that the world will encounter a recession.

United Nations has also predicted the same thing to happen. According to UN, the world economy growth was  remarkable in 2007. There are more than 100 economies tat reported to have an increase of 3 percent. Meanwhile, developing countries are also showing promises.  The economic growth average in developing countries was almost 70 percent.

But UN Conference on Trade and Development stated that there is clear disaster or danger for the world economy to standstill in 2008. The UN report stated that this economic standstill will hit many poor nations and would definitely end the boom in economic growth.

Home Exchange – Pros and Cons (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

An expert in home exchange program once asserted that “the very act of staying in someone's home, living, shopping, and doing the things residents do also makes for the kinds of personal interaction that is often deeper than just staying in a hotel and visiting tourist attractions.”

A frequent home swapper had declared that “there is something addictive about taking the place of a ‘native’ family in a different culture. You are immediately living a life, not being an exploited tourist. Your home exchange partner would leave hints like ‘Don't go to the market on a Thursday, go about 1:00 on a Friday when they have all the bargains’ or ‘The best and cheapest restaurant is…’ or ‘My neighbors will give you a typical meal from the region and take you to see the best view in our area’ and many more. People couldn't be more friendly and helpful.”

It makes no difference how good the tour guide says it or how well the travel book describes a destination; the real picture can only be seen from your ‘own’ backyard. Traveling to another country and staying as a guest in someone's home makes the experience richer, and more meaningful.

Cons

Sometimes however, you have to work a little harder in looking for a partner. If your place is not that appealing or is out of the way, perhaps, very few people will want to go there. So, the initial contact work has to come from you. Once a connection is set, there might be five or six letters and about four or five phone calls before things get settled.

On the average, one needs to send out 20 to 25 letters of interest to get at least one positive response.  One should not get very disappointed if there is no positive news in the first few contacts that were made.

All in all, the pros far outweigh our small complaints on home exchange. Simply put, it’s just so nice to live in a real home, especially on your vacation.

Home Exchange – Pros and Cons (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Home exchange has gone a long way since the 50’s when it was a simple travel lodging option popularized by the academia (teachers, writers, professors, graduate students) wanting to go to places but saddled with very limited budgets. From printed pamphlets sent out periodically before, home exchange organizations now have their own websites where one can surf through thousands of listed homes for exchange.

Typically, home exchange is an agreement between two people or families from different parts of the country (or the world) deciding to “exchange” their places of residence for an agreed period of time. The main consideration then was money, or the lack of it, actually.

Pros

Of course, money is still the biggest factor why home exchange is still popular now, and getting to be more so. The hard cash principle is simple – you don't pay a single cent for the accommodations.

Very often the exchange reaches beyond dwellings to include cars and/or pet care, rewarding you with additional savings on rentals and boarding. Many people opt to travel to more exotic locations for longer periods with significant savings on accommodation costs.

But other reasons like comfort and culture are added to its being a good, cost-effective travel option. Most of today’s accommodations are tight, there is minimal privacy, never enough bathrooms, and places are usually crowded with tourists for a traveler to really enjoy the place of destination.

In a real home, you can whip up scrambled eggs sandwich and warm milk at 2 a.m. in a real kitchen. Or, go to a real terrace to take in some real breeze. It is always fun just to go shopping in a neighborhood market. And after a hectic day and you don’t feel like getting dressed up just for dinner, you can eat supper in your favorite pajamas.

Fish Oil For The Heart (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

How do these acids exactly reduce heart attack risks?

They reduce triglyceride levels.  Triglycerides come from fats of the food that we eat and calories not digested. In excessive amount, tryglycerides can cause coronary heart disease.  They are just like cholesterol, they block the arteries and these can lead to heart attacks.

Aside from that they can also stabilise irregular heart beat.  It can lower blood pressure and increase the level of good cholesterol.  They also have anti-inflammatory characteristics.  They are also anti-coagulant which means they make sure that they platelets do not stick together are clot.  These clotted platelets can also block the arteries and the blood flow. You call this Thrombosis.

But according to a research led by Dr. Jochen Senges of the University of Heidelberg, the risk for a second attack among patients who used recommended medications compared with those who are using fish oil has no significant difference.  It just show how important it is to avoid getting any heart attack in the first place.

You can take fish oil supplement or eat a lot of fatty fish but if you do not combine them with a healthy heart diet, still it is going to be useless.  A healthy heart diet would include high fiber food like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans and nuts.  Aside from eating fish, eating good quality protein products like lean poultry, non-fat dairy, and other products that does not contain saturated fat or trans fat.

Fish oil is not a magic pill which can transform you immediately into a healthy person just by taking them. Being a healthy person does not only require taking food supplements but also eating properly and healthily.

Fish Oil For The Heart (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

It seems that a lot of research and studies are showing how effective fish oil is in helping improve our heart conditions.  Studies in Denmark showed that fish oil could reduce heart attacks by 50 %.  While the Journal of American Medical Association published a report from Harvard School of Public Health that states that women who consume fish with higher Omega-3 fatty acid lessens their risk of incurring any heart disease.

These evidences show us how good Omega-3 fatty acid is to our body.  This would actually improve our life and lengthen our life span.  High contents of Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines, herring and anchovies.  They have docosahexaenoic acid or DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid or EPA which have anti-inflammatory and anti-coagulant effects.

Omega-3 fatty acid belongs to the polyunsaturated fats, along with omega-6 fatty acid.  Omega- 6 acid come mainly from vegetable oil.  Omega-6 oils can also provide the body with heart and health benefits, but too much is also bad for the body.  Omega-3 fatty acids do not only help in heart issues, but also support brain development.

EPA and DHA are very important to our body.  But the body does not produce Omega-3 fatty acid.  We have to get the nutrients from our food.  Omega-3 acids are called or referred to as building blocks of the body.  They help the brain and vision development, not only for children but for adults as well.

Italian researchers actually say that consuming about 1 gram of Omega-3 per day would show significant effects on reducing heart attacks.  A gram of Omega-3 fatty acid can be present in a medium sized serving of salmon.
